So let’s get into it.
1) Residence Agnes
Haštalská street, No. 19, Prague, 110 00, Czech Republic
This hotel is really fantastic. It is located within 3 minutes’ walk from the Old Town Square, which means that you are in the heart of Prague. The hotel can be found on Haštalská street, a short walk from the picturesque Haštalské Square (map link with street view).
Public transport is readily available being you’re only a few meters from the bus and tram station Dlouhá. Still within walking distance is metro station Náměstí Republiky (yellow line), where you will find the biggest Prague department store Kotva and Palladium .
And you’re in luck as the hotel is just a short walk from where they serve one of the best Czech draft beers, Pilsner Urquell, (chain Lokál) in Prague (reservation recommended).
Hotel Residence Agnes has a great buffet breakfast so there’s plenty of choice.
2) Hotel Kampa
Všehrdova street No. 16, Prague, 11000, Czech Republic
This hotel is positioned in a very lovely area on Kampa Island. It is in the historic quarter close to other landmarks such as Charles Bridge. Breakfast is delicious where they serve eggs, fruits, vegetables, good coffee, and desserts. For dining near the hotel, we recommend the Luka Lu restaurant.
The best thing about this hotel is its location, ancient streets, street lamps, the adjacent park, or a walk on the Kampa to caress your soul. (google street view here).
Within a short distance there’s the tram stop Ujezd and Hellichova. Be sure to head northwards (you can walk if you prefer) to the Lesser Town Square, where you will be on the Malá Strana (Lesser Town) – a picturesque historic district that includes the Charles Bridge, Prague Castle, Nerudova street and others.
At the Lesser Town Square and its surroundings are a host of small shops, convenience store, McDonald’s, and Starbucks.
3) Domus Henrici Boutique Hotel
Loretanska street, No. 11, Prague, 11800, Czech Republic
The hotel has a beautiful terrace with stunning views of Petrin Hill and the nearby area. We recommend (depending on the time of year) that you sit outside and soak up the views while you eat your breakfast.
Surrounding the hotel is Úvoz street, yet again offering magnificent views. Loretánská street is a place where you can really get a feel for the atmosphere, historical life and architecture (google street view here ). Loretánská street leads around the well-known Loreta building and onward to the Castle Square. Here sits Prague Castle in all its glory – definitely worth seeing! A well-deserved place in our category “Top 4 star hotels in Prague city center”.
In addition to the many cafes and restaurants around, there is a supermarket in Pohořelec place (few meters away), which is open well into the night. It’s called the Žabka supermarket. At Pohořelec it’s also easy enough to find trams if you wish to see another part of the city.
Also worth a try is the Valašská restaurant, which imports its beer from a small local brewery and where you can buy specialties like goats’ cheese. It a little hard to find, and sometimes even the locals when asked don’t know exactly where it is. It is in the basement, can you see the link?
4) Hotel Grandium Prague
Politickych veznu street, No. 12/913, Prague, 110 00, Czech Republic
This very charming and stylish hotel is also in center of Prague, near Wenceslas Square, where 3 subway lines (A, B, C) intersect. It’s also just a short walk from the main train station too (google street view here).
Accommodation is suitable for those who want to be in the middle of everything or love nightlife and seek out bars and clubs in the city center during the darkest hours. A perfect convenient location thanks to the subway checkpoint station (station Můstek and Muzeum).
Just opposite is a great restaurant called Bredovský Dvůr. However, do not be afraid to explore the city a bit more or around Wenceslas Square. Jindřišská Věž (walking distance from the hotel – about 3 minutes) is also a very appealing restaurant that’s located inside an ancient bell tower. Behind the hotel is the entrance to the passage, which leads directly to Wenceslas Square.
Výtopna is a great pub on Wenceslas Square, where your beer is delivered to you in a small train with wagons!
5) Residence U Malvaze
Karlova street, No. 10, Prague, 110 00, Czech Republic
One of the finest hotels in Prague in this category! Great location, near Charles Bridge, in the ancient streets of old Prague, at Charles Street (google street view here).

There is no need for any more words to describe it because when you leave the hotel in the morning, you are only a short walk from Charles Bridge where you can soak up the authentic, historical atmosphere.
Go across the Charles bridge and along the beautiful walk, and you are on the Malá Strana (Lesser Town). Do not miss a stroll along Kampa (at the end of the bridge on the right).
6) Golden Star
Nerudova street No. 48, Prague, 118 00, Czech Republic
This hotel is remarkable because it is nestled directly below Prague Castle. Some of the rooms on offer will provide you with stunning views. The hotel was renovated in 2016 and, therefore, quite rightly it belongs among the few hotels in this category that we would like to highlight and recommend.
The hotel is also situated in the most beautiful part of Prague’s Lesser Town where there are architectural monuments at every turn. It’s worth seeing this incredible place. http://bit.ly/2n88wyh
During the summertime, the hotel opens its pavement terrace to guests so they can sit outside. In addition to visiting Prague Castle, you can amble through the streets behind the Castle, in an area called New World. Here we recommend visiting the U zlaté hrušky (Golden Pear) restaurant or cafe Kavárna Nový svět (Cafe New World).
7) Elite Hotel
Ostrovni street No. 32, Prague, 11000, Czech Republic
Elite hotel is close to the Národní subway station. This street can be a bit noisy, but the beautiful setting of the hotel adequately compensates for this, and the advantage being its proximity to Prague’s public transport (google street view here).
There is also tram stop with the same name as the metro, and tram number 22 will take you to the exciting Lesser Town district.
On the street, Národní is also a large department store with Tesco’s supermarket. Within walking distance, you can reach “Na Perštýně” street where we recommend you go a bit further north through the ancient streets towards Charles Bridge. However, if you’re a bit thirsty after all this walking, why not sample some Pilsner Urquell beer, at the pub restaurant “U Pinkasů“.
Cafe “Mysak” is also close by if you are more into trying out some of the delicious local pastries.
8) U Zeleného Hroznu
Jánský Vršek 11, Prague, 11800, Czech Republic
A truly excellent location, one of the best! Situated in the district of Lesser Town, and only a short walk from Nerudova street, there are many beautiful historic buildings and a direct path to Prague Castle (google street view).
One of the top hotels from category “Top 4 star hotels in Prague city center“.
Near the hotel is the excellent “U 7 švábů” restaurant and also “Žabka” supermarket. There is no need for any further comment about this area because you are in the heart of the historical center of Prague. Just exit the hotel and walk!
You are in the heart of the historical center of Prague.
If someone had asked me where to stay in Prague, this would probably be one of the first hotels I would recommend.
We advise booking the Superior King Suite room.
9) Hotel Questenberk
Uvoz 15/155, Prague, 11000, Czech Republic
If you’re lucky and this hotel is available, try it. It has fascinating architecture and perfectly situated again in Prague’s Lesser Town. The hotel is filled with charm and elegance, and is at the crossroads of history, entertainment, and relaxation. A quality hotel from our category – Top 4 star hotels in Prague city center.
Be sure to stroll around on foot – it’s worth it. And not only around Prague Castle which is just a few minutes from the hotel, but visit Loreto close to Loretánské Square, or in the summertime take a walk to the park on Petrin Hill.
Questenberk Hotel has spectacular views of the Old Town, Prague Castle and the breathtaking but quiet Petrin park (google street view here ).
Nearby is Pohořelec, where you’ll find the small supermarket Žabka, (which has the same tram stop name – Pohořelec). The hotel has a lovely terrace for dinner – check out the pictures, it’s a slider.
10) Lokal Inn
Misenska street No. 12, Prague, 11000, Czech Republic
Again, we are at the Lesser Town in Prague, because the beauty of this place is second to none. Even though there are some superb hotels in the modern part of the city, why not choose somewhere else, perhaps here, in the picturesque historic district. You may even come across real jewels at reasonable prices here too!
The main advantages of this hotel:
- Not far from Charles Bridge
- Not far from Lesser Town Square
- Close to Prague Castle
- Romantic snacks right next to the hotel
- On the ground floor of the hotel, you will find the top pub, chain “Lokál“, where serve the best Czech beer – Pilsner Urquell.
If you are only a little physically fit, you still won’t need to travel everywhere by public transport, because everything is right under your nose!
In addition to the pub on the ground floor, there’s a cool wine bar right next door, where people sit on the sidewalk and drink great wine on hot summer nights.
We also recommend passing Charles Bridge and a bit further to Kampa.
